"Snoetry" A Wintry Writing Freebie
Looking for something to get your kids back into the swing of things when you get back on Monday? Well look no further. I present to you..
(Click on the picture to grab the freebie)
This resource will get your students creative juices flowing as they write both Cinquain and Haiku poems about winter and/or (snow)flakes. In this freebie you'll find a snowflake outline, circles with lines for each poem, and examples of each type of poem!
All you do is have your kids plan their poem, publish one (or both) and glue onto either side of the snowflake. I like to get out the glitter for this project (GASP- THE GLITTER???). They look great hanging from the ceiling or on a bulletin board!
Hope you enjoy it! This is always a favorite among my kiddos!

It's Currently January...2014!!
I'm back from vacation in Daytona Beach. We stayed on the 26th floor. The views were amazing...

We did tons of things which contributes to my exhaustion. We toured the Daytona 500 speedway which was pretty cool!

Timothy, Hollie, and Justin went on the Sling Shot. This thing flung them up super high. Not me- no way!

We visited the Oldest City in America- St. Augustine. The holiday lights tour was fun!
We also went to Universal! This ride was nuts (Rip Ride Rock It Rollercoaster- or something like that). You went up at the 90 degree angel. So scary!

Also First Night on Main Street was a blast! Bands, music, dancing, a ball drop, and fireworks at midnight!

This is the youngest heavy metal band- The Cousin It band. They were amazing!

We also got to spend some time with lovely family!

Now I CANNOT believe it is 2014!! (I've already written the date twice and only messed up once- whaat!?) Here's what I am currently up to.
Now I'm off to the movies with Justin, Mom, Dad, my Great Grandmother, and my siblings because their flight to NY was cancelled until Saturday.
Who's ready to head back to school? Not me- that's for sure!

Unwrapping my favorite old holiday photo!
Have you been keeping up with this party? So fun! Linking up with Daina and Tamara again for their "Unwrapping your holiday favorites" linky! :)

Today we are unwrapping our favorite old holiday photo. You ready for this one? It's a cutie...

That's me and all my siblings (The CHATpak) in our Icelandic sweaters! They are sooo warm and great for winter! I'm not exactly sure what year it was but it was around '98. I'm pretty sure I could ask my mom and she would know! ha. Anyway- We're going to try to recreate it this year :) That ought to be fun!
We were dubbed "CHATpak" because of our names- Chelsea (right), Hollie (in front), Ashley (me! Back middle), Timothy (left). We were cute- I just wonder what happened? ;)
Can't wait to check out other old holiday photos!

Unwrapping my favorite holiday food
Daina from Sticky Notes and Glitter has a fun party going on all week about "Unwrapping" our holiday favorites!
This week we are unwrapping our favorite holiday food.
My mouth is watering just thinking of them! Sooo delish. I wish I could share the recipe for my grandmothers meatballs but it is a secret family recipe! ;) I don't know if they are really "Icelandic" but ya know- sometimes parents will say anything to get their kids to eat and apparently I thought it was really cool to eat food from the place where my mother was born. haha But as for the crackers- head to your local grocery store! :)
Can't wait to read about your favorite holiday foods!
